The Perfume Avant-garde at Spitzenhaus
Christof Hoerler

Creatio Ex Nihilo – the name of our new brand could not have had a more fitting origin.
An avant-garde fragrance project well and truly “created out of nothing”. It is a symbiosis of classic French haute parfumerie and cutting-edge molecular technology.
That is the starting point of Ex Nihilo. Shooting star perfumeurs use only the most innovative raw materials for the creations. Precious high-quality natural substances are intentionally allied with sophisticated molecular developments known as “captives”.
The three brand founders set themselves the ambitious goal of collaborating on the scents with only the most talented and successful young noses, and it has paid off. Fleur Narcotique by Quentin Bisch, for example, is destined to become a classic that will go down in perfume history – I’ll stake my own nose on that.

The fascinating thing about each of the individual creations is the accessible overture, which then segues for the wearer into a complex, sustained profundity. And just when you think you have perceived all the facets, new olfactory impressions begin to unfold, almost if you were time travelling.
“Classic-modern. Restrained-assertive. Cultivated-flamboyant. Subtle; never too loud. Always elegant yet never boring. That would be my shorthand to describe the essence of Ex Nihilo. Or as Ex Nihilo co-founder Benoît Verdier likes to say: “We’re the Tesla of the fragrance industry”.”
Spitzenhaus is especially proud to be the first specialty shop in the German-speaking region of Switzerland authorized to present, Ex Nihilo as a partner.
Discover your personal signature fragrance form a wide-ranging collection of perfumes and oils (Sublime Essences), a body product line and a home collection.
I will now introduce you to three of my personal favorites, all of them with “star” potential. Although I must admit, it was not easy to narrow it down to just three from a collection of over 20 innovative scent creations.

Fleur Narcotique
Very rarely it happens that you just know in an instant: this fragrance will take a place in the list of iconic classics. I immediately had this impression with Fleur Narcotique. A creation form the hand/nose of Quentin Bisch. (Spitzenhaus perfume aficionados will know Quentin from his creations „B683“ and „Ganymede for Marc Antoine Barrois). Although the scent owes its “narcotic” effect to a fruit/blossom ensemble, Fleur Narcotique is still absolutely suitable for the modern-day dandy. Litchi and peach merge with floral and musk-based notes. And then there’s that mysterious and mesmerizing secret ingredient that simply compels you to surrender...

Viper Green
The James Bond of the collection. A sinister bad guy or a dapper gentleman? I’d say: both! The name is a good description of the character of the scent: dangerously addictive. A crisp green opening fascinates from the outset. Then an incredibly refined transition from elegant freshness to a floral heart, atop a solid woody-pungent base. The perfect companion for the whole day. Busy activity mingles with the fragrance of long nights – always with a commanding presence. Galbanum, vetiver and green mandarin give Viper Green its kick. The molecular creation Rosyfolia® contributes a surprising floral explosion in the nose. But rest assured, as a thoroughly modern scent Viper Green makes a captivating choice for wearers right across the gender spectrum...
Lust in Paradise
That’s right: the name is programmatic! Sensual and feminine-seductive. A high-tension combination of rose pepper and peony spirits us away to the fashionable French Riviera. The breeze carries the scent of haute couture, sun-kissed skin and sparkling Champagne. Easy elegance is the credo here. A transparent musk base lends Lust in Paradise its laissez faire attitude, something I think we all secretly yearn for. Lust in Paradise, is destined to be the signature scent of the modern woman. If not now, when?
