Many are aware of the work Lyn Harris produced previous to Perfumer H.

The exceptionally successful brand Miller Harris, founded in the year 2000, has left an indelible impression on quite a few of us.

Lyn belongs to the illustrious circle of England’s classically trained perfumers – an exclusive handful. The stations of her creative development brought her to many renowned producers, among them Robertet in Grasse, acclaimed for his exceptionally high-quality natural perfume oils and compositions.

Lyn’s enormous creative skill led to successful commissions from Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik and the traditional brand Cire Trudon. Lyn Harris has been recognized with numerous coveted industry accolades for her work, including the 2005 François Coty Award.

Established in 2015, Perfumer H soon became the place to go for bespoke fragrance creations: scents developed exclusively for individual customers and not available to the general public.

Natural raw materials play an important role in Lyn’s compositions. They are at the heart of each individual perfume. The natural ingredients are adeptly combined with cutting-edge fragrance molecular science to create moving, even gripping, consummate works of art that hold a truly unique place in the fragrance world.

We at Spitzenhaus are exceedingly pleased and proud to be the first specialty retail venue outside of Lyn’s own boutique network permitted to present the comprehensive «Perfumer H» collection to our customers.

Awaiting you at our premises you will find refillable artisanal flacons of handblown glass, as well as skillfully handmade fragrance candle vessels in subtle, never shrill colors and also streamlined spray bottles, ideal for today’s cosmopolitan nomad.

For this newsletter I have chosen three fragrances from the extensive collection to describe to you in more detail. My «picks» are journeys in scent that touched me particularly and are fascinating representatives of the Perfumer H brand – mindful of the fact that when you soon visit us here at Spitzenhaus, you will certainly find your own favorite …

An ode to the written word. Although we are meeting here via a digital medium, handwritten letters and «real» books remain an inimitable pleasure. Sitting down with a piece of fine writing paper, you take the writing implement in your hand. You give free reign to your feelings, expressed in handwriting full of personal character and – ink.

Blue ink on paper was, in fact, the inspiration for this creation.

Anyone expecting the acidic-metallic notes of actual ink is in for a surprise with INK.

An unbelievably sensuous scent equipped with strength of character and a wonderful dry woodiness. Haitian vetiver and cedarwood – both frequently used as dominant notes in perfumery – make a subtle appearance here in considered, well-balanced doses. Iranianr elemi resin, pepper, Turkish rose and SSomalian frankincense – divine!

Though we might find the world to be quite a «cloudy to rainy» place at times, RAIN CLOUD is actually a scent with a wonderfully positive energy. And, who would have thought it: is basically floral in nature. I don’t know about you, but I find there’s something almost romantic about a rainy day. RAIN CLOUD effuses a «vintage character» and reminds me of a floral perfume classic, but with a refreshing, almost youthful twist. Bergamot, Italian mandarin, a neroli absolute, ylang ylang from La Réeunion, angelica, Haitian vetiver and bourbon vanilla make RAIN CLOUD a highly complex fragrance for a wearers, female or male, longing for a whole new entrée into the classic art of perfume. A stroll through the mist after a refreshing rain shower.

DUST? Really? Okay, I admit, the name did immediately catch my attentionfasziniert mi. DUST plays with the fascination of the powdery Italian iris. Whether you choose to mull it over at an Italian palazzo or from your own home I leave entirely up to you.

For me, DUST speaks of a fine haze of powder, furniture polish and exquisite fabrics.
