Ex Nihilo

The brand Ex Nihilo is an avant-garde fragrance project “created out of nothing”. It is a symbiosis of classic French haute parfumerie and advanced molecular materials technology.

Creatio ex nihilo – the Latin expression behind the brand name - could not be more suitable. Creating something “out of nothing” is precisely what Ex Nihilo set out to do: to bring an entirely new, disruptive impulse to the fragrance market. The shooting star perfumers behind the brand use only the most innovative ingredients for their creations. By design, the project also combines highly quality natural ingredients with molecules known as “captives” – the product of sophisticated molecular science.

The ambitious goal of founders Benoît Verdier, Sylvie Loday and Olivier Royère to pursue collaborations with only the most talented and successful noses in the industry has paid off. With his Fleur Narcotique, for example, Quentin Bisch has designed a future classic; a fragrance destined to make international olfactory history.

Classic/modern, reserved/self-confident, cultivated/flamboyant, but never too loud; always elegant but never bored: that is a good description of the basic character of Ex Nihilo. Or as Benoît Verdier, co-founder of the brand, likes to say: “We’re the Tesla® of the fragrance industry.”
