There is nothing new, really, about putting perfumers in the spotlight and using their names in the branding of individual scents.

Contes de Parfums, however, takes this convention in new directions. The individual «authors» of this Spanish brand’s fragrances enjoy exceptional freedom in interpreting their own, often intimate, experiences in connection with a favorite destination. Ramon Monegal’s creation, for example, is based on a passion for sailing, for many internationally renowned perfumers it is an exotic, evocative «expat» workplace. The fact is, different cultures have very different and highly specific olfactory preferences. This luxurious line combines professional expertise, foreign cultures and a bit of the personal pride of each individual creator.

The perfumes bear the names of major international cities to which the individual perfumers have a special connection. The result is a sensuous collection of intimate travel experiences, and we are taken along for the ride, encountering en route a steady stream of new and nuanced aspects of foreign cultures.

We are quite certain – and permit ourselves to assert – that many of the authors of
