Aman represents the very quintessence of the luxury hospitality industry. Since 1988, more than 30 sanctuaries of tranquility and respite have been established in over 20 countries. Places where the true luxury of travel is celebrated and perfected as virtually no other host venue has achieved to date.
Aman is extremely sensitive to the regional traditions and artifacts at every one of their destinations. At some sites old forgotten and crumbling ruins were restored and rebuilt according to the original floor plans and made into inviting revived spaces for international hotel guests. And there is no better way of reveling in the memories of a wonderful, lighthearted hotel stay than with the “distilled luxury” of an Aman destination in the form of a perfume. But the fragrance does more than just revive the memory of a fabulous vacation.
The comprehensive collection of destination perfumes also allows the wearer to experience sensory emersion in as-yet-unknown cultures, sparking inspiration for future travel plans. The organically shaped perfume flacons are the trademark of the line. Designed by famous Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, he subtly incorporates the surroundings and nature into his designs. Each perfume is assigned its own color, subtly deployed, from a nuanced palette of earth tones. Cultural influences, the natural environment and spirit of the destination play an important role in the color choice.
The perfumes themselves are designed by no less a nose than Jacques Chabert, who lives and works in Grasse. This dedicated perfumer has applied his considerable talent to fragrances for major brands including Chanel, Guerlain, Loewe and Molton Brown.
